Shannon Ruther has lived in Las Vegas for 49 years, and for more than five of them she has run Hypnotic Wellness Center, a one-woman practice in Summerlin. She wrote that in her application to join the 702 Alliance, and it is the plainest way to describe the business: one practitioner, one calendar, a city she knows from the inside.

Who is behind it

Her professional biography on the practice’s website uses the name Shannon Ruther-Prescott and lists a bachelor’s degree in social work from UNLV (1998), certification through the Marisa Peer RTT School, and Reiki Master certifications at levels one through three in the Usui tradition. The website gives no street address. It names Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Summerlin, and the wider Clark County area, and offers virtual sessions by Zoom for people anywhere. Hours listed there are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, noon to 3 p.m., with Sunday closed. A free 15-minute consultation comes first, by phone, online booking or the contact form. The site says messages get a reply within 24 hours.

Shannon Ruther says the business is locally owned and independently operated, not a chain or franchise.
