Locally owned bars and lounges in Las Vegas
8 bars and lounges, every one independent and locally owned.
These bars are independent and locally owned, and several have been part of Las Vegas nightlife for decades: a tavern from 1954, a blues bar with roots in 1976 and a tiki bar that opened in 2008.
Atomic Liquors has poured on Fremont East since 1954 and holds Las Vegas Tavern License #00001. The Sand Dollar Lounge traces its lineage to the 1976 Sand Dollar Blues Bar and books live blues in Chinatown. Frankie’s Tiki Room on West Charleston is a 24-hour tiki bar with carved tikis, open since 2008. In the Arts District, Velveteen Rabbit has been a sister-owned craft cocktail bar since 2013, and sommeliers Eric Prato and Mario Enriquez opened Garagiste Wine Room & Merchant, a wine bar and bottle shop, in 2019.
McMullan’s Irish Pub on West Tropicana is Brian and Lynn McMullan’s Irish pub, with food and live music. In Henderson, Las Vegas Distillery makes bourbon, gin, vodka and rum and pours them in a 1950s-style tasting room. Farther north, Willy and Cindy Webb keep the historic Genoa Bar & Saloon on Genoa’s Main Street.
