Showboy Bakeshop
Bakery, Henderson and Las Vegas
Claimed by the owner The owner claimed this listing in October 2026.
Stephen Lowry and Jared Sullivan, two Las Vegas show people, opened Showboy Bakeshop in Henderson in 2013 and named the cupcakes after theater. They competed on Cupcake Wars that year.
Stephen Lowry came from London to Las Vegas to work as a performer. Jared Sullivan was born and raised here, worked backstage on musicals and was entertainment manager at the Rio, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported in 2013. In March 2013 the two opened Showboy Bakeshop in Henderson's Anthem Village shopping plaza, in a space that came open when a coffee shop closed the October before.
Cupcakes with stage names
The menu follows the theater theme. The red velvet is the Red Carpet, the lemon cupcake with blueberry cream cheese frosting is the Bluebell, and there are a Lemon Minelli, a Times Square and a Banana Bell Bundy, named for the Broadway actress Laura Bell Bundy. "All our cupcakes follow the theme," Lowry told the paper. "Now our customers know them by name."
Cupcake Wars
A customer's email to the show led its producers to contact the owners about a month after the opening. The episode, a Wizard of Oz round with a $10,000 prize and Leonard Maltin as guest judge, was filmed that June and aired September 28, 2013. Lowry called it "the hardest thing I've ever done in my life."
Ordering
Cupcakes are sold in the shop Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Custom cakes need at least a week's notice, the shop takes four custom orders a day, and most weekends fill two to three weeks ahead. Gluten-free is available in every flavor by the dozen, with vegan and sugar-free choices too.
On the record
In June 2025 Vegas PBS's Nevada Week In Person had Lowry and Sullivan on to talk about how show business led to the bakery and to share tips for decorating cupcakes at home. The Better Business Bureau lists both among the business's managing members. The shop's website also keeps a Baking With Broadway page, an Instagram series with guests such as Megan Hilty and Annaleigh Ashford.
