Listed Seat #296 is saved for this business.

Norton Dog Training is a Las Vegas business owned by Brad Norton, a former gun dog trainer who now teaches obedience and trains service and therapy dogs.

Brad Norton learned dog training the long way. In the late 1990s he went looking for help with an unruly Labrador puppy and met Dan Hosford, a competitive gun dog trainer, who took him on. His website says he spent about eight years on the road with Hosford, training and competing dogs, and still quotes the lesson: "Rarely is the dog the problem. It is almost always the owner."

He came back to Las Vegas in 2008, found few places to train gun dogs, and, after talking with local dog owners, built a basic obedience program instead. The Better Business Bureau lists Norton Dog Training, LLC as started in February 2017, with Norton as owner, A+ rated and accredited since August 2018.

Programs on the website

  • Obedience: ten private lessons, then an advanced course toward off-leash work
  • A four-week obedience board and train in Norton's workshop
  • Puppy orientation for dogs 8 to 20 weeks old, one session of one to two hours
  • Service dogs, including diabetic alert and mobility assistance, and therapy dogs
  • Facility therapy dogs for schools, medical offices, funeral homes and churches
  • Bird-dog training, group lessons and confidence building for anxious dogs

In the news

In April 2026, FOX5 Las Vegas reported that Norton Dog Training was working with a dog named Sarge on basic commands, leash and off-leash walking and public access, and quoted Norton as the business's owner. The site says Norton's own therapy dogs visit many Las Vegas schools.
