Confident Canines is a Las Vegas dog behavior and training business run by Eileen Koval, a certified behavior consultant who teaches shock-free snake avoidance.
Eileen Koval spent about ten years as an intelligence analyst, with the CIA, the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and U.S. Air Force Central Command, before she turned to dogs. A Bold Journey Magazine profile in March 2024 says a behavior consultant's help with a dog's serious anxiety pushed her to change fields. Today she runs Confident Canines LLC in Las Vegas.
Behavior first
Confident Canines handles problems that send people looking for help: aggression, separation issues, resource guarding, chewing, marking and digging, along with puppy training, obedience and agility. Koval is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant through IAABC and holds the CBCC-KA and CPDT-KA credentials from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Her site says she does not use shock, prong or pinch collars, choke chains or fear.
Snake avoidance without a shock collar
Southern Nevada's rattlesnakes are the reason many local owners call. Koval developed a positive-reinforcement method for teaching dogs to avoid them. CCPDT lists her online course on the subject as a continuing-education event for trainers, and she says trainers in several countries use it.
How to book
The website says first appointments are virtual, with local follow-ups in person, and that online consultations are available worldwide. Veterinary clinics in Las Vegas and Henderson refer clients to her, it adds. The Bold Journey profile adds that she designed and markets a head halter called the Gilly Halter and works with chiropractors, rehab therapists and groomers around the valley. There is no phone number on the website; use its scheduling link or write to info@confidentcaninesdogtraining.com.
