New Moon Entertainment
Event Production, Las Vegas / Las Vegas Valley
Researched from public sources.
Matthew Gucu's Las Vegas talent agency and event producer since 2015: house bands like 80's Station, hundreds of acts, sound, lighting and odd event rentals.
An event company run by a working musician
Before New Moon Entertainment, Matthew Gucu spent more than 25 years in Las Vegas as a singer, recording artist and entertainer. He started an indie record label at 19, signed with RCA Records in his 20s, and performed with the tribute act 80’s Station, formerly known as Loveshack. In April 2015 he founded New Moon to book talent and produce events, and he still runs sales in Las Vegas. His wife, Monica Gucu, manages operations.
Its own bands
New Moon produces a handful of house acts, which are the quickest way to see what it does:
- 80’s Station, a costumed 1980s show with musicians channeling figures like Billy Idol, Slash and Rick James; past clients listed include HBO, Cisco and IBM
- 90’s Station, which runs from boy bands to Green Day and the Fugees and plays regularly on Fremont Street Experience stages
- A Top 40 dance band, a hair metal tribute, and a rock, country and pop band
It also represents hundreds of outside acts, among them DJs, cirque performers, crooners, Elvis impersonators, magicians, comedians, string players, carolers, fortune tellers, cigar rollers, flair bartenders and keynote speakers.
Sound, lights and a few surprises
The production side covers sound, staging, lighting and decor. Its TurboSound package comes with delivery, teardown and a live engineer and is sized for bands or DJs playing to up to 2,500 people indoors. Couples can rent battery-powered uplights and pin spots, truss columns, ceremony speakers, a lavalier mic for the officiant, and a projector and screen.
The rental list also has some odder pieces: eleven illuminated inflatable planets, a wine bike staffed by a pouring model, and a Champagne & Dessert Dress that guests serve themselves from. A multimedia team takes on branding, print, video and live camera work, and a Los Angeles sales office covers Southern California. In Las Vegas, sales also goes through guitarist Jacob Chidester, who has played Strip productions such as Rock of Ages.
