Iron Rose Plants and Vintage

Walk into Iron Rose Plants and Vintage at 525 Nevada Way in Old Town Boulder City and the first thing you see is greenery: houseplants, succulents and cactus, with mid-century furniture and pieces from local artists filling out the room. The shop’s own story says it opened in July 2021, and the Boulder City Review reported its arrival that September, when the store was run by Anita Weisenbarger.

Melissa Wirthlin’s shop

The Boulder City Chamber of Commerce lists Melissa Wirthlin as owner, and the chamber’s own newsletter of April 2023 names her under Iron Rose Plant Shop. She also writes for the shop’s site, including a piece on the Eames RAR chair. The store calls itself women owned and operated and says it picks plants “for every space and ability.” The chamber’s directory gives the same address.

What is on the shelves

The website sorts the stock into plants, pots, plant care, gifts and stickers. Its tagline promises “lush greenery and handpicked vintage treasures for your home since 2021,” with a mid-century modern leaning.

Classes and swaps

The site has a Classes and Events section. The Boulder City Review’s library roundup of September 24, 2026 says Iron Rose helps run a Plant Clipping Exchange on the last Wednesday of every third month at 6:30 p.m., next on October 28: bring a clipping, leave with one, and get growing advice from “Melissa from Iron Rose.”
