Yuzo Kono and Annie Bailey Cheng opened Bad Owl Coffee in Henderson in 2015 after a trip to Universal Studios Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter convinced them they wanted to bring that immersive atmosphere back to a non-gaming, alcohol-free social space near their Henderson home. The Hedwig-inspired name nods to Harry’s owl, and the menu has anchored Bad Owl Coffee Roasters as one of the valley’s most-reviewed independent coffee operators in less than a decade. The brand has since expanded from the Henderson flagship to Southwest Las Vegas and Downtown locations.
