A Reliable Bookkeeper

Corrie Morvari grew up in a small Wisconsin village, studied at the Minnesota School of Business and did her early bookkeeping at a small CPA firm in St. Louis and then at a large office-equipment company. She brought those skills to Las Vegas in 1997, her About page says, and opened A Reliable Bookkeeper in 2005.

What she does each month

A Reliable Bookkeeper enters a client’s financial transactions, including checks and credit-card payments, and prepares financial statements. Its site also lists reconciliations, payroll and payroll tax reporting, invoicing and bill paying. Morvari says she has worked as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor since 2004, and the firm works with small and medium-sized businesses.

The idea, as the site puts it, is to make financial data understandable for owners and employees. Some owners hand over the whole routine; others want only the books kept current. The contact page leaves that to a conversation.

Where to find her

A Reliable Bookkeeper is in the 89117 zip code on the west side of Las Vegas. The website lists office hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed weekends, and gives a phone number and a form for a first message. It publishes no street address.

A second look

Outside her own site, an accounting directory, Reputable Accountants, lists A Reliable Bookkeeper in Las Vegas with Corrie as the owner, and says the business was established in 2005. The listing repeats her own account of the business, so it supports the 2005 date but does not prove it separately.
